Redpack invests in technology to reduce your downtime

Getting Your Head Round Mixed Reality (MR)

Technology is becoming common in society with the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) making increasing appearances in everyday life, vocabulary, and use. Their use as a form of convenience or entertainment have a great deal of attraction. Fortune Magazine reports that the global virtual reality market is projected to grow to $227.34 billion by 2029*

While this technology has its attractions, there is an even more purposeful way of embracing it and Redpack Packaging Machinery are successfully using the application to give customers a faster, smoother and convenient service using Mixed Reality.

Say What You See

Mixed Reality (MR) is a growing technology that overlays 3D visualisations, instructions, and simulations on real-world environments to help workers while providing them with full movement and autonomy. MR has progressed to real time and is successfully delivering critical value to Redpack and its customers.

Redpack are using the internet connected Microsoft HoloLens 2 which is an untethered, self-contained holographic headset that allows users to leverage enterprise-ready MR applications while working heads-up and hands-free. This can enhance productivity, training, and collaboration while working with tools or equipment. HoloLens integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service, Microsoft Mesh, or other solutions.

The Redpack Service Team have been liaising with customer engineering teams to help them with installations abroad. It is also used to quickly make adjustments, minor repairs and replacement of parts on their flow wrap machines without the immediate need for a Service Engineer visit. The flexibility that HoloLens offers makes it an attractive proposition.

More Than Meets The Eye

The HoloLens 2 has an improved field of view, allowing users to see more of the holographic environment. This makes it easier to work with larger objects or in larger spaces.

With enhanced security in mind, the HoloLens 2 features built-in security measures, including support for Windows Hello biometric authentication, allowing for secure login without the need for passwords.

It also allows for custom applications to be built for customer flow wrap machines which makes it a versatile tool for a wide range of applications. Overall, the HoloLens is a powerful tool that can enhance productivity, training, and collaboration in a variety of industries that use Redpack technology.
